Job Title: Retail Data SME Location: Remote – USA Job Type: Full-Time Experience: 25+ Years Overall IT/Data Experience Start Date: Immediate Priority: High / Urgent Requirement Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Retail Data SME with 25+ years of overall IT/Data experience and strong expertise in the Retail Data domain. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Google Cloud/Google Cloud Platform technologies, enterprise data platforms, data warehousing, analytics, and Power BI. The candidate will work closely with business, data engineering, architecture, BI, and executive stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise across retail data and analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Retail Data Subject Matter Expert for enterprise data, analytics, and reporting initiatives.
- Analyze business requirements and translate retail data needs into effective data solutions.
- Provide expertise across Customer, Product, Sales, Inventory, Pricing, Promotions, Store, Supply Chain, E-commerce, and Loyalty data.
- Work with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) technologies for enterprise data and analytics solutions.
- Develop and optimize Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and executive-level analytics.
- Use DAX, Power Query, and Power BI data modeling for advanced reporting and analytics.
- Analyze complex datasets and deliver actionable insights aligned with retail business objectives.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Architects, BI teams, and business stakeholders.
- Support data modeling, data integration, data quality, governance, and modernization initiatives.
- Work with enterprise data warehouses and modern cloud data platforms.
- Communicate technical concepts and data insights effectively to senior and executive-level stakeholders.
- Work independently as a senior SME and provide guidance on data strategy and solutions.
Required Skills
- 25+ years of overall IT/Data experience
- Strong Retail Data domain expertise
- Extensive experience with Google Cloud / Google Cloud Platform
- Strong hands-on Power BI experience
- Strong DAX, Power Query, Power BI dashboards, reporting, and semantic/data modeling
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Data Platforms
- Experience with Data Warehousing and Analytics
- Strong understanding of retail data domains such as:
- Customer
- Product
- Sales
- Inventory
- Pricing
- Promotions
- Store
- Supply Chain
- E-commerce
- Loyalty
- Experience with Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Integration, and Data Modernization
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to interact with senior/executive-level stakeholders
- Ability to work independently as a Data SME
