Retail Food Sales Representative

Job Description:

• Establish and maintain long-term customer relationships in an assigned territory
• Develop business and provide outstanding customer service
• Gather and analyze market intelligence to determine potential sales of specialty foods
• Plan expansion of the client base based on customer demographics, preferences, and needs
• Determine customer needs and provide solutions
• Conduct product demonstrations
• Prepare and deliver sales proposals
• Maintain customer prices and provide contract updates
• Meet sales goals and provide weekly activity and progress updates to the VP of Sales
• Monitor customer receivables and follow up on past-due accounts
• Promote company capabilities, marketing promotions, and programs
• Attend sales meetings and respond promptly to customer and associate emails
• Monitor seafood and meat inventory availability and provide customer updates
• Review out-of-stocks, offer substitutes, and provide solutions
• Review specialty product updates and provide customer solutions
• Educate yourself on products, applications, and portfolio
• Introduce new items, provide promotions, and identify additional items to offer customers

Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills, including written, interpersonal and listening
• Capable of analyzing issues and developing solutions
• Ability to be creative and innovative
• Excellent judgment and decision-making ability
• Organizational and time management skills
• Ability to retain product and process knowledge
• Ability to lead by example
• Confidence and professionalism in representing the Company
• Willingness to be a team player
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
• Experience in the specialty food industry with a proven track record of prospecting and attaining new business
• Willingness to travel as required
• Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
