Key Responsibilities

As a Data Entry Specialist on the 2nd shift, you will be the linchpin that keeps our laboratory’s data ecosystem running smoothly. Your day‑to‑day tasks will include:

• Accurately entering laboratory requests, test orders, and specimen details into our electronic data system.
• Cross‑referencing orders with patient records and requisition forms to verify data integrity.
• Identifying and flagging discrepancies or missing information for immediate resolution.
• Adhering to strict safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of biological hazards.
• Ensuring compliance with brighthush’s quality control standards and regulatory requirements such as CLIA and CAP.

Essential Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. A postsecondary certificate in health information technology or a related field is a plus.
• Typing Proficiency: Minimum 45 words per minute with high accuracy; 10‑key proficiency is required.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills to interpret complex laboratory orders.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of laboratory terminology and specimen handling procedures.
