Seasoned Strategic Customer Success Manager – Driving Digital Ministry Growth, Engagement, and Adoption for Faith Communities at brighthush
About brighthush
brighthush is a purpose‑driven technology company that is redefining how faith communities connect, grow, and thrive in the digital age. We combine cutting‑edge software with deep pastoral insight to create a platform that feels as human as it is high‑tech. Our mission is simple: empower churches, ministries, and faith‑based organizations to communicate more effectively, manage events with ease, and nurture deeper relationships—all while preserving the warmth and authenticity that define spiritual communities. As a rapidly expanding part of the brighthush family, we are committed to building inclusive, supportive environments where innovation meets purpose.
Why This Role Matters
As the inaugural Strategic Customer Success Manager at brighthush, you will be the linchpin that turns our vision into reality. You will partner directly with the Head of Customer Experience to design and scale the framework that supports churches at every stage—from onboarding to long‑term partnership. Your work will shape how thousands of pastors and ministry leaders engage with technology, ensuring that every church feels heard, supported, and empowered to fulfill its mission. In short, you will be the bridge between our product and the people who rely on it to serve their communities.
Key Responsibilities
- End‑to‑End Onboarding Leadership – Own the entire onboarding journey for new churches, from securing access to coordinating with engineering on technical setup, to delivering customized onboarding templates and ensuring smooth project handoffs. You will create a seamless experience that feels personal and scalable.
- Strategic Partnership with Leadership – Collaborate closely with the Head of Customer Experience on sales calls, kickoff meetings, data‑practice discussions, strategy sessions, and training engagements. Serve as the through‑line for customer relationships and a trusted advisor to senior church leaders.
- Independent Customer Engagement – Conduct monthly check‑ins, relationship management, and strategy refinement for an assigned portfolio of churches. Translate high‑level strategy into actionable, measurable outcomes that drive adoption and satisfaction.
- Bridge Between Customers & Engineering – Act as the primary translator, bringing engineering solutions back to customers, following up on deliverables, and minimizing the need for engineers to attend customer calls. Your clarity will accelerate product adoption and reduce friction.
- Process & Documentation Champion – Create and refine onboarding playbooks, support workflows, training best practices, and ministry‑specific strategies to enable scalable growth. Your documentation will become the living manual that new hires and customers rely on.
- Automation & Operational Backbone – Identify opportunities for automation or delegation (including AI tools) versus tasks that require a human, pastoral touch. Build the operational framework that supports rapid expansion while preserving the empathy that defines brighthush.
- Travel & In‑Person Engagement – Attend periodic in‑person training sessions and customer engagements alongside the Head of Customer Experience, fostering deeper relationships and gathering real‑world insights that feed back into product and service design.
Essential Qualifications
- Deep experience in church or ministry settings—staff or long‑term volunteer—understanding pastoral workflows and change management.
- Proven track record in a customer‑facing role at a SaaS or technology company, leading implementations and managing ongoing relationships with organizational customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable leading meetings, producing clear documentation, and presenting to executive pastors.
- Self‑directed ability to manage multiple work‑streams independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver results without constant supervision.
- Familiarity with church management systems such as brighthush.
- Willingness to travel for customer trainings and team gatherings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a startup or early‑stage environment where playbooks are written in real time.
- Technical aptitude to discuss CHMS integrations and evolve strategy alongside customers, even without coding skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into systems and processes, bringing order to chaos.
- Comfortable leading discussions with executive pastors and other church leadership, balancing humility with credibility.
Skills & Competencies
- Servant‑Hearted Leadership – Proactively supports the team, embraces a “no task is too small” mentality, and stays connected across roles.
- Curiosity & Continuous Improvement – Loves to learn why and how things work, seeks to understand customer needs deeply, and constantly looks for ways to improve.
- Strategic & Process‑Oriented Thinking – Thinks in steps, structures, and systems; excels at translating strategy into actionable processes.
- Problem‑Solving & Drive – Tackles complex challenges, works collaboratively to find the best solution, and goes the extra mile with a strong work ethic.
- Adaptability & Scrappiness – Thrives in an evolving environment, comfortable writing playbooks on the fly, and excited to shape the future.
- Customer‑Minded Technical Fluency – Understands technology enough to discuss integrations and evolve strategy with customers.
