Senior Account Executive
Position Summary RxPreferred is seeking a Senior Account Executive to own and grow a portfolio of client relationships across our pharmacy benefit programs. As a trusted advisor to employers, health plans, TPAs, and benefit consultants, you will turn deep PBM expertise into strategic account plans, lead renewals and contract negotiations, and make sure every client experiences the transparency and service RxPreferred is known for. This role is ideal for a seasoned PBM professional who pairs analytical rigor with genuine relationship building, and who wants their work to directly drive client retention, growth, and member outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Client Strategy & Relationship Management Serve as the primary strategic point of contact and trusted advisor for an assigned book of business, building relationships from day-to-day contacts through executive leadership and benefit decision-makers. Develop and execute client-specific account plans with clear retention, satisfaction, and growth objectives, and track progress against them. Align account strategies with each client's business goals and clearly demonstrate the value, savings, and impact of RxPreferred programs and services. Lead and facilitate discussions with client executive leadership, brokers, consultants, and other key stakeholders. Performance Reviews & Market Insight Conduct regular client meetings to review benefit plan performance, pharmacy utilization and cost trends, rebate and financial performance, and strategic opportunities, translating data into clear, actionable recommendations. Monitor PBM market, regulatory, and legislative developments and proactively advise clients on their impact and on opportunities to improve plan performance. Renewals, Contracts & Growth Own the renewal process, including financial analysis, plan design recommendations, and presentation of renewal strategy. Lead contract negotiations in partnership with internal teams and ensure ongoing compliance with contractual obligations and performance guarantees. Lead the request for proposal (RFP) process, including proposal development, response management, and finalist presentations. Identify and pursue opportunities to expand client relationships across RxPreferred's service lines, such as 340B Administration and Pharmaceutical Rebate Administration. Service Delivery & Collaboration Coordinate internal resources and cross-functional teams to address client needs and resolve escalated issues quickly and thoroughly. Partner with implementation teams to ensure smooth onboarding and a seamless transition for new clients. Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsive service. Mentor and support junior account management team members, sharing best practices in client strategy and service. Perform additional duties as assigned. What Success Looks Like Success in this role means strong client retention and renewal results, measurable growth within your book of business, high client satisfaction, and clients who see RxPreferred as a strategic partner rather than a vendor.
