Senior Accountant - Client Accounting (Independent Pharmacy) - Remote Sykes and Company, P.A. | Remote | Full-time ABOUT US Sykes and Company is an accounting firm serving independent pharmacies and related industries. Our team of about 60 helps pharmacy owners understand their numbers so they can grow their businesses and take care of their families and communities. THE ROLE This is a fully remote position. You will handle the day-to-day accounting that keeps our pharmacy clients running. You will work alongside Staff Accountants, Pharmacy Accounting Managers, and Advisors, own a set of recurring client work, and build real relationships with the owners you support. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and point-of-sale activity - Process accounts payable, import payroll, and submit retirement plan contributions - Help with month-end close and prepare client financial statements - Prepare sales and use tax returns, 1099s, payroll addbacks, and property tax returns - Manage your work so deadlines are met accurately for clients and teammates - Answer client questions and keep relationships strong - Help improve our processes, including testing new accounting technology - Use firm-approved AI tools for research, drafting, and review, and verify all AI-assisted work for accuracy WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience - No degree? We will also consider an associate degree in accounting or a related field plus 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent plus 7 or more years of progressive accounting experience - Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills - QuickBooks experience; QuickBooks Online Certification preferred - Strong attention to detail, responsive communication, and a coachable attitude - Pharmacy or CPA firm experience is a plus, but not required WHY SYKES - Fully remote, with a $75 monthly internet allowance - Benefits start day one: medical (including an HSA option with an employer contribution), plus dental and vision at no cost for you - Employer-paid life, disability, accident, and critical illness coverage, plus a 401(k) with a 3 percent Safe Harbor company contribution - 16 days of PTO to start that grows with tenure, 9 paid holidays, and paid volunteer time - Continuing education reimbursement, weekly employer-paid virtual personal training, and a defined training and promotion path Sykes and Company, P.A. is an equal opportunity employer.
