Senior Agricultural Credit Analyst & Customer Success Strategist – Driving Farm Financial Empowerment, Growth, and Innovation at brighthush
Welcome to brighthush – Where Agriculture Meets Innovation
At brighthush, we’re on a bold mission to become the most trusted name in agricultural finance across the United States. With a blend of cutting‑edge ag‑tech software and hands‑on, personalized finance coaching, we empower family farms to master their finances and build businesses that thrive for generations. Our team of 44 dedicated professionals is passionate about supporting the backbone of our nation, and we’re looking for a seasoned credit analyst who can help us scale that impact.
Why This Role Matters
As a Senior Agricultural Credit Analyst & Customer Success Strategist at brighthush, you will be the linchpin between a farmer’s vision and the financial reality that supports it. Unlike traditional credit roles that sit behind committees or in back‑office boxes, you will work directly with farmers, translating their numbers into actionable insights that strengthen their operations. Your work will shape the way we onboard, support, and grow our client base, ensuring that every farmer feels confident managing their own cash flow and making strategic decisions that drive long‑term success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Onboarding Excellence
Take new customers from signed‑up to confident in just 30 days. Your tasks include:
- Collecting and verifying financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Building detailed cash‑flow projections and cost‑of‑production analyses.
- Educating farmers on financial concepts—working capital, break‑even points, and debt management—in plain language.
- Co‑creating a customized financial roadmap that aligns with the farmer’s long‑term goals.
- Facilitating workshops and one‑on‑one coaching sessions to reinforce learning.
- Collaborating with the product team to tailor the brighthush platform to each farm’s unique workflow.
2. Proactive Ongoing Care
Maintain a rhythm of scheduled, value‑driven touchpoints. You will:
- Prepare for each call by reviewing the farmer’s latest numbers, marketing plan, and debt structure.
- Identify early warning signs of financial stress using data dashboards and predictive analytics.
- Recommend actionable strategies—whether it’s adjusting crop mix, renegotiating loans, or optimizing input costs.
- Document insights and action items in our shared knowledge base, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex credit issues, coordinating with risk, compliance, and product teams.
- Track and report on key performance metrics to senior leadership.
3. Retention & Growth
Ensure customers renew because the value is undeniable. Your approach includes:
- Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cash‑flow health, debt‑to‑equity ratios, and revenue growth.
- Proactively reaching out to accounts that show early signs of wobble.
- Co‑creating retention plans that address specific pain points and reinforce the farmer’s confidence in brighthush.
- Collaborating with the product team to advocate for features that enhance the farmer’s experience.
- Identifying upsell opportunities and coordinating with the sales team to close new business.
- Collecting and analyzing customer feedback to inform product roadmap and service improvements.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a credit analyst, portfolio manager, or relationship manager in the agricultural or related financial services sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial statements and translate them into clear, actionable insights.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships, with a focus on customer success and retention.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—capable of explaining financial concepts to non‑financial audiences.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, or similar) and experience working with financial dashboards.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to think strategically about long‑term financial health.
