Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Customer Platform team. In this role, you will architect, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services that power our customer‑facing APIs. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and front‑end engineers to deliver features that delight our users and drive business growth.

As a key member of the engineering squad, you will own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of new features—from conceptualization and design to deployment and monitoring. Your expertise in Go, Kubernetes, and micro‑service patterns will be critical in ensuring that our platform remains scalable, resilient, and secure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Architecture: Lead the design of scalable, fault‑tolerant backend services that support our customer platform and public APIs.
  • Development & Delivery: Write clean, well‑tested Go code, implement RESTful and gRPC endpoints, and integrate with third‑party services.
  • Feature Ownership: Own features from ideation through production, ensuring high quality, performance, and reliability.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously profile, benchmark, and optimize services to meet stringent latency and throughput targets.
  • Infrastructure & DevOps: Collaborate with the platform team to deploy services on Kubernetes, manage CI/CD pipelines, and implement observability best practices.
  • Security & Compliance: Apply secure coding practices, conduct threat modeling, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Translate technical requirements into actionable plans and communicate progress to product and leadership teams.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional backend engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Go (Golang) with a deep understanding of its concurrency model and ecosystem.
  • Hands‑on experience building and maintaining public APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
  • Strong background in designing and operating micro‑service architectures at scale.
  • Proven experience deploying services on Kubernetes clusters, including Helm, operators, and custom controllers.
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and related services (load balancers, IAM, networking).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fully remote, distributed team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OpenAPI specifications and API gateway patterns.
  • Knowledge of observability tools such as monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions.
  • Familiarity with security best practices (OWASP Top 10, SAST/DAST, secret management).
  • Background in data modeling and working with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
  • Experience with event‑driven architectures (Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ).
  • Contributions to open‑source projects or active participation in developer communities.
