Position Overview
As a Senior Customer Systems Architect at brighthush, you will serve as the technical bridge between our most demanding customers and our product development teams. Your deep engineering expertise will translate complex, ambiguous requirements into standardized, scalable design solutions that accelerate time‑to‑market while minimizing non‑recurring engineering (NRE) costs. You will champion our modular product platform, ensuring every engagement aligns with our strategic vision for configure‑to‑order (CTO) solutions.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
- Lead technical discovery workshops with hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise engineering teams.
- Capture and synthesize ambiguous site‑specific requests into clear, traceable interface specifications.
- Define physical, electrical, thermal, and logical boundaries between customer civil/utility infrastructure and our modular systems.
- Collaborate with Sales to produce technically rigorous, customized conceptual layouts and multi‑MW power flow architectures.
- Advocate for pre‑engineered platform configurations to accelerate lead times and reduce NRE costs.
- Author structured delta requirements for custom features, assessing engineering risk, cost impact, and regulatory footprint.
- Convert validated customer requirements into rigorous design inputs for Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls engineering teams.
- Coordinate with customer site planners to ensure clearance envelope compliance, structural anchoring, and NEC/OSHA standards.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for design variances during product validation, factory acceptance testing, and initial site commissioning.
- Document recurring customer customizations and emerging technical trends to inform the long‑term product roadmap.
- Monitor competitor modular configurations to keep brighthush’s interfaces and capabilities industry‑leading.
- Provide actionable insights to product teams, fostering rapid iteration and customer‑centric design.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Discovery & Requirement Synthesis
- Lead Technical Workshops – Facilitate multi‑disciplinary sessions with hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise engineering teams to surface and clarify customer needs.
- Requirement Capture – Transform ambiguous site‑specific requests into clear, traceable interface specifications that can be translated into design deliverables.
- Boundary Mapping – Define physical, electrical, thermal, and logical demarcations between the customer’s civil/utility infrastructure and our modular systems.
- Proposal Engineering – Collaborate with Sales to produce technically rigorous, customized conceptual layouts, system block diagrams, and multi‑MW power flow architectures that demonstrate feasibility and value.
2. Platform Protection & Standard Governance (CTO vs. ETO)
- Standardization Advocacy – Champion the use of pre‑engineered platform configurations to accelerate lead times and reduce NRE costs.
- Variance Management – When custom features are required, author structured delta requirements, assess engineering risk, cost impact, and regulatory footprint before routing to product development.
- Risk Assessment – Evaluate the technical and business implications of deviations from the standard platform, ensuring alignment with brighthush’s quality and scalability goals.
3. Cross‑Functional Engineering Translation
- Scope Hand‑off – Convert validated customer requirements into rigorous design inputs for Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls engineering teams.
- BIM & Space Coordination – Work with customer site planners to ensure clearance envelope compliance, structural anchoring, and NEC/OSHA standards.
- Factory‑to‑Site Support – Serve as the primary escalation point for design variances during product validation, factory acceptance testing, and initial site commissioning.
4. Strategic Product Feedback Loop
- Market‑Driven Innovation – Document recurring customer customizations and emerging technical trends to inform the long‑term product roadmap.
- Competitive Analysis – Monitor competitor modular configurations to ensure brighthush’s interfaces and capabilities remain industry‑leading.
- Continuous Improvement – Provide actionable insights to product teams, fostering a culture of rapid iteration and customer‑centric design.
