Senior Data Analyst & Virtual Assistant – Remote Data Entry & Real‑World Evidence Specialist Driving Data‑Powered Healthcare Innovation at brighthush

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

About brighthush

brighthush is a trailblazer at the intersection of data science and patient care. With a global network that spans hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and cutting‑edge health‑tech startups, we transform raw clinical information into actionable intelligence that accelerates drug development, informs regulatory strategy, and ultimately improves patient outcomes. Our mission is simple yet ambitious: turn every data point into a story that guides real‑world decisions and shapes the future of healthcare. By harnessing real‑world evidence (RWE), we uncover insights that traditional clinical trials often miss, giving our partners a competitive edge in a rapidly evolving industry.

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail‑oriented Senior Data Analyst & Virtual Assistant to join our Remote Data Entry & RWE team. In this hybrid role, you will be the linchpin between raw data acquisition, rigorous statistical analysis, and clear, actionable reporting. You will collaborate closely with clinical research scientists, data engineers, and external partners to ensure every dataset is clean, compliant, and ready for advanced analytics. Your work will directly influence product development, regulatory submissions, and strategic decision‑making for our clients in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Acquisition & Normalization: Collect raw patient data from internal sources and authorized third‑party platforms, transform it into a standardized, analysis‑ready format, and store it in our secure data lake.
  • Data Cleaning & Quality Assurance: Perform meticulous data cleaning, deduplication, and validation to maintain the highest integrity standards for RWE studies.
  • Statistical & Exploratory Analysis: Design and execute reproducible statistical models—including logistic regression, survival analysis, Bayesian methods, and time‑series forecasting—to uncover insights about disease progression, treatment efficacy, and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Dashboard & Report Development: Build interactive dashboards and comprehensive reports using Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or similar BI tools for both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner with clinical researchers, data engineers, and external vendors to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all data handling practices comply with HIPAA, GDPR, ISO, MDD/MDR, and other regulatory frameworks governing real‑world evidence research.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance data pipelines, automate repetitive tasks, and adopt emerging technologies such as AI/ML for data enrichment.
  • Project Management: Lead or contribute to multiple concurrent RWE projects, managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the healthcare or pharmaceutical domain.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and statistical modeling.
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one BI platform (Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of clinical terminology, coding systems (ICD‑9/10, Read Codes, SNOMED CT), and healthcare data standards.
  • Experience handling large, multi‑source datasets and performing data cleaning, deduplication, and validation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into business‑friendly language.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with real‑world evidence (RWE) or real‑world data (RWD) projects, including familiarity with observational study design and causal inference techniques.
  • Knowledge of GCP, ISO, MDD/MDR, and CFR regulations governing clinical research and data integrity.
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical methods such as Bayesian modeling, machine learning, and survival analysis.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, claims data, and clinical data warehouses.
  • Background in data engineering or data architecture, including ETL pipeline design.
  • Prior experience in a virtual assistant capacity—managing calendars, communications, and project coordination.

Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python/R, and BI tools.
  • Project Leadership: Proven track record of managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive in both written and verbal formats.
  • Compliance Awareness: Deep understanding of data privacy and regulatory standards.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating evolving technologies and shifting project priorities.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
