About the Opportunity: The Senior Developer Experience Advocate role focuses on enhancing the experience of developers using the organization's data tools. This position involves creating prototypes, content, and community engagement to help practitioners succeed with products like dbt State, dbt Fusion, dbt Wizard, and the Fivetran connector SDK. The role contributes by providing product feedback, advocating for users, and advancing thought leadership in open data infrastructure, thereby shaping the developer experience and supporting data teams. 3. Responsibilities: Design and build prototypes, reference implementations, and example repositories demonstrating practical use of tools Create working prototypes to validate product directions and speed engineering cycles Develop tooling to reduce friction in analytics engineering workflows Produce technical content for developer blogs, guides, and documentation Publish knowledge and best practices on data and analytics engineering Develop enablement resources for internal teams and the broader community Represent product areas in community channels, public forums, and events Gather and synthesize community feedback to inform product and engineering teams Identify and report issues or gaps in developer experience Maintain and contribute to open source repositories and community projects 4. Requirements: Minimum 5 years in data or analytics engineering or related fields with broad industry knowledge Practitioner-level hands-on experience with dbt Proven expert communication skills in technical writing and speaking, with public content published Strong fundamentals in data and analytics engineering, including proficiency in Python and SQL Familiarity and enthusiasm for integrating AI into workflows Ability to work autonomously, set priorities, and deliver quality output with minimal direction Strong product sense and capability to provide actionable user feedback 5.
