Overview

We are seeking a Senior GIS Systems Administrator who will support our NYS client in administering and maintaining ArcGIS Enterprise and associated GIS infrastructure. The role focuses on platform architecture, geodatabase administration, GIS integrations, ETL automation, and reliable delivery of geospatial services. The specialist will troubleshoot complex environments, maintain operational documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders to support GIS availability and performance. ​Duties:

• Architect, install, configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot ArcGIS Enterprise components and hosted services.
• Manage ArcGIS Enterprise users, named-user licensing, entitlements, and authentication integrations including SAML and OpenID.
• Install, configure, maintain, back up, and troubleshoot relational, tile-cache, and spatiotemporal ArcGIS Data Stores.
• Configure ArcGIS Image Server, manage mosaic datasets, publish image services, and support imagery and caching workflows.
• Manage and optimize map, feature, and image service publishing, caching, tiling, symbology, hosting, and performance.
• Support ArcGIS Monitor, Dashboards, Experience Builder, and Field Maps; use ArcGIS API for Python and REST APIs for administration, reporting, and troubleshooting.
• Administer enterprise geodatabases, including versioning, editor tracking, archiving, replicas, extract-changes patterns, and feature audits.
• Execute GIS backup, restore, and platform upgrades, using WebGISDR, equivalent tools or GeoJobe, with high-availability considerations.
• Develop and automate GIS data integration and ETL workflows using FME workbenches and Python scripts; use PowerShell for Windows/IIS tasks.
• Support geospatial data creation and open-source GIS components such as PostGIS and GeoServer.
• Troubleshoot Windows Server, IIS, networking, DNS, firewall ports, load-balancing dependencies, and TLS/SSL certificates.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials; coordinate with stakeholders.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in GIS platform administration, systems support, or related technical work.
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise architecture, configuration, installation, maintenance, administration, user management, licensing, and identity integration.
• Experience supporting ArcGIS Data Store, ArcGIS Image Server, web services, and ArcGIS application components including Dashboards, Experience Builder, and Field Maps.
• Experience with enterprise geodatabases, GIS data management, versioning, backup and restoration, and ArcGIS Enterprise upgrades.
• Experience with ArcGIS API for Python, REST APIs, FME/ETL automation, Python, and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with Windows Server, IIS, GIS system troubleshooting, basic networking, and TLS/SSL certificate management.
• Ability to produce technical documentation and collaborate with stakeholders.

Educational & Certification Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in geography, mathematics, computer science, or a related field.

• An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
