Senior Lead Data Engineer (Remote)
For our client, we are seeking a Senior Lead Data Engineer (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will shape the enterprise data engineering direction for a global organization, with a focus on scalable cloud data architecture and high-quality data delivery. You will partner closely with technical stakeholders and business teams to translate complex operational needs into reliable data solutions. The position also calls for mentoring others, setting engineering standards, and advancing AI-enabled improvements across the data ecosystem. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $118,000 – $196,700 annually
Responsibilities
Lead architectural development of enterprise data platforms Define and execute a multi-year data engineering strategy Design and optimize Azure-based data solutions Harmonize data across multiple ERP systems into common models Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions Establish engineering standards and mentor team members Implement AI-enabled approaches to improve data processes
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Data Engineering 6+ years of experience in data engineering or related areas Proven experience with enterprise cloud data platforms Hands-on experience with Azure technologies, including Databricks and Azure Data Factory Strong SQL and Python proficiency, with experience in distributed frameworks such as Spark Knowledge of designing ETL/ELT pipelines and data architectures Experience with API integrations and production support practices
