Senior Medicaid Policy Consultant / Medicaid SME
Senior Medicaid Policy Consultant / Medicaid SME Remote | Contract-to-Hire | $70–$80/hour HCRI is seeking an experienced Medicaid policy consultant to support a State/Territory Medicaid program. This role requires direct, hands-on experience with State Plan Amendments (SPAs), Medicaid waivers, CMS policy and regulatory guidance, and state Medicaid programs. This is not a general healthcare consulting or project management position. This position requires direct State Medicaid experience, including hands-on work with State Plan Amendments (SPAs), Medicaid waivers, and CMS policy/regulatory requirements. Candidates whose Medicaid experience is primarily project management, healthcare operations, commercial insurance, Medicare, or provider-side work will not be a fit for this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze Medicaid policy and regulatory guidance.
- Support State Plan Amendments (SPAs) and 1115, 1915(b), 1915(c), and 1915(i) waiver initiatives.
- Interpret CMS regulations and provide policy recommendations.
- Collaborate with state Medicaid agencies and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Research, draft, and review policy documents, guidance, and implementation strategies.
Qualifications
- Experience with State Plan Amendments (SPAs) and/or Medicaid waiver programs.
- Experience working with CMS, state Medicaid agencies, or Medicaid consulting organizations.
- Knowledge of Medicaid policy, benefits, eligibility, provider reimbursement, or DME/POS policy.
- Strong policy analysis, writing, and stakeholder communication skills.
