By fusing advanced analytics, machine learning, and a deep understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, brighthush delivers a unified platform that helps organizations make smarter, evidence‑based decisions at scale. Our mission is simple: create a healthier future by harnessing the power of data.

Why This Role Is Critical to brighthush

Analytics is the heartbeat of brighthush. Every decision—from risk stratification to medical economics to episode‑of‑care optimization—relies on the rigor and depth of our data science and analytics teams. As a Senior or Lead Customer Insights Analyst, you will sit at the intersection of platform engineering and bespoke client solutions, translating complex healthcare challenges into concrete, scalable analytical assets. Your work will directly influence how our customers improve outcomes, drive revenue, and lower operational costs.

What Success Looks Like

In 3 Months

  • Master the specific engagement’s data model, technical stack, and stakeholder landscape.
  • Become proficient with brighthush’s core analytics platform—QuickSight, Foundry, dbt, and the AWS ecosystem—within your engagement.
  • Deliver a first analytical output that delivers clear, measurable value to stakeholders.

In 6 Months

  • Own and deliver meaningful analytical projects independently, whether it’s a program’s analytics, a portfolio of retainer work, or a dedicated account’s dashboards.
  • Establish yourself as a credible, independent presence in front of customers and partners.
  • Contribute at least one reusable analytical asset, framework, or automation that extends beyond your immediate engagement.
  • Begin managing the ongoing health of your area—backlog, tech debt, or broader backup responsibilities.

In 12 Months

  • Be recognized as an expert in your engagement area, trusted with the most complex or ambiguous work.
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for automation, scalability, and reuse across your work.
  • Advance into deeper ownership—full backup or co‑owner on an account, sole steward of a program’s tech debt, or, for analytics‑engine placements, the architect shaping that engine’s roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Analytical Delivery

  • Translate ambiguous business or clinical questions into concrete, buildable data plans.
  • Design, develop, and maintain analytical pipelines using SQL, dbt, and brighthush’s Foundry and AWS data lake environments.
  • For analytics‑engine placements, lead the strategy and end‑to‑end ownership of a productized engine (risk, medical economics, episodes‑of‑care).
  • Collaborate with Data Science to design, build, and validate predictive or risk models.
  • Create dashboards, provider scorecards, registries, and other deliverables in QuickSight or equivalent BI tools.
  • Ensure analytical integrity and quality, flagging issues before they reach customers; for senior roles, oversee quality standards across engagements.

Program and Project Management

  • Manage delivery calendars, decision logs, and risk mitigation for single programs or multiple concurrent projects.
  • Produce client‑facing materials—status decks, decision memos, technical explainers—tailored to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Delegate routine work to junior analysts and cross‑train team members for coverage.
  • Lead cross‑functional analytic initiatives that span multiple teams or engagements.

Customer and Cross‑Functional Partnership

  • Serve as the primary or supporting day‑to‑day contact for customers or delivery partners, navigating scope and timeline conversations.
  • Partner with Customer Management, Growth, Product, and Engineering to shape account strategy, product direction, and analytics roadmaps.
  • Exercise authority at handoff boundaries—require rework or hold a handoff that isn’t ready, and push back on scope when necessary.
  • Act as an internal thought leader and, for some placements, an external ambassador—representing brighthush’s analytics capabilities at meetings, conferences, and publications.

Team Contribution

  • Mentor and develop junior analysts, building organizational capacity beyond individual delivery.
  • Own the long‑term health of your area—backlog, tech debt, or roadmap—ensuring sustainable growth.
  • Integrate AI tooling into your workflow for analysis, QA, and documentation.
  • Identify and implement automation, scalability, and reusability improvements in analytical delivery.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong SQL and data modeling expertise—capable of translating ambiguous requirements into concrete data plans.
  • Hands‑on experience with healthcare data (claims and/or clinical) and familiarity with value‑based care models.
  • Direct customer‑ or partner‑facing experience—comfortable scoping and presenting independently.
  • Comfort with AI tooling as a standard part of the analytical workflow.
  • For Lead‑level roles: proven experience leading analytical work, managing multiple stakeholders, and mentoring junior analysts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing dbt‑based analytics engines (risk, medical economics, episodes‑of‑care) and partnering with product/engineering on roadmaps.
  • Proficiency in dashboarding tools such as QuickSight or comparable BI platforms.
  • Quantitative/ML fluency sufficient to build models and hand them to a Data Science team for training.
  • Background in medical economics, risk algorithms, quality data, or episodes‑of‑care analytics.
  • Experience with state Medicaid programs or large government health initiatives.
  • Experience delivering projects on a retainer or multi‑customer basis.
  • Experience working within a prime contractor or partner structure on shared delivery.
  • Track record of presenting analytic capabilities externally—customer meetings, industry conferences, publications.
  • Python for analysis and QA; familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, Jira, and Confluence.

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced analytical thinking and problem‑solving.
  • Strong communication—technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • Collaboration across cross‑functional teams.
  • Adaptability and continuous learning mindset.
  • Leadership and mentorship capabilities.
