Title: Senior PostgreSQL DBA and Engineer - W2 Only Location: 100% remote, EST or CST hours required Duration: 6 months initial expectation + extensions + ability and interest to convert perm. Interview Mode : Phone + Video Job Description: Must Haves 5+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL development and database administration and engineering experience in enterprise-scale environments. Strong expertise in database design and data modeling, including logical/physical modeling, schema design, normalization/denormalization, partitioning, and scalability. Advanced SQL and PL/pgSQL development skills, including stored procedures, views, materialized views, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization. Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting, including indexing strategies (B-Tree, GIN, GiST, BRIN, Hash), VACUUM optimization, statistics management, and execution plan analysis. Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery, including replication, failover, backup/recovery, read replicas, and scaling strategies. Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines, Kafka integrations, CDC, and real-time/batch data processing. Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Bash, with experience supporting APIs and microservices. Hands-on experience with cloud database platforms such as AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud SQL. Strong understanding of data security and governance, including RBAC, encryption, auditing, PHI/PII protection, and compliance requirements. Pluses Healthcare industry experience. Experience leading or supporting database migration initiatives. DevOps and infrastructure automation experience using Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Ansible. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud-native environments. Strong background in metadata management, data lineage, profiling, and reconciliation. Experience with monitoring tools, WAL management, and PostgreSQL migration utilities.
