We are seeking a Senior Researcher with knowledge of programs and activities of the Department of Labor to help translate rigorous research into actionable insights for policymakers and practitioners. DSG seeks a Senior Researcher with experience supporting the U.S. Department of Labor’s Clearinghouse for Labor Evaluation and Research (CLEAR) and expertise in Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessments (RESEA) . Key Responsibilities: Lead systematic evidence reviews and assess research using CLEAR’s causal evidence standards. Synthesize findings on reemployment services, unemployment insurance, and workforce interventions. Develop research briefs and practical evidence products for policymakers and state program administrators. Guide reviewers and ensure methodological rigor and quality. Contribute to approaches for using AI to support evidence review, with expert oversight. Desired qualifications Direct CLEAR experience reviewing studies, developing syntheses, applying evidence standards, or overseeing review quality. RESEA research, evaluation, or evidence-building experience. Strong knowledge of experimental and quasi-experimental designs and evidence synthesis. Experience leading research teams and communicating complex findings in clear, accessible language. Experience in unemployment insurance, reemployment services, and interpretation of the existing evidence. Advanced degree in economics, public policy, sociology, psychology, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred. Experience with AI-assisted evidence review is a plus.
