Senior Revenue Cycle Specialist — Billing & Credentialing
Senior Revenue Cycle Specialist — Billing & Credentialing Klarity Health | Remote, United States | Full-time Base salary: $85,000–$105,000 Benefits: Health and dental insurance About Klarity Health Klarity Health is a technology company helping healthcare practices grow and operate through our EHR, credentialing, managed billing, and patient acquisition services. We’re building tools that reduce administrative work and help providers focus on patient care. About the role We’re looking for an experienced billing and credentialing specialist who has personally handled these operations in an established private practice, medical group, billing company, or healthcare technology business. You’ll be the person teammates turn to for difficult claims, enrollment problems, and payer questions. You’ll work directly with providers, coach colleagues through complex cases, and help our product and engineering teams turn recurring problems into better workflows and automation. This is a senior individual-contributor role. You’ll lead through expertise and hands-on problem-solving, without formal people-management responsibilities. What you’ll do Investigate and resolve complex claim rejections, denials, underpayments, and aging receivables. Follow cases through payer responses, corrections, appeals, and payment reconciliation. Handle provider credentialing, payer enrollment, recredentialing, and CAQH maintenance. Track outstanding requirements and follow up through completion. Identify enrollment-related billing issues involving provider and group records, payer participation, locations, and effective dates. Troubleshoot eligibility, authorization, claim submission, payment posting, and remittance issues with practices and internal teams. Explain billing and credentialing issues to providers clearly, including what happened, what needs to happen next, and who owns each step. Coach teammates, review difficult cases, and create practical guides that help the team resolve similar problems independently. Identify recurring errors and bottlenecks. Recommend changes to intake, validation, work queues, reporting, and follow-up processes. Translate real operational cases into clear requirements and examples for product and engineering. Help test proposed changes against actual workflows. Use approved reporting, automation, and AI tools to reduce repetitive work while maintaining accuracy, privacy, and appropriate human review. What we’re looking for Substantial hands-on experience in both professional medical billing and provider credentialing/payer enrollment. Experience supporting multiple providers and payers in an established practice, billing organization, or comparable business. You can explain the scale of the operation and the work you personally performed. Strong claim-investigation skills: you can interpret payer responses and remittances, find the underlying cause of a problem, and determine the next action. Practical understanding of credentialing, contracting, and enrollment, and how each affects a provider’s ability to bill and receive payment. Experience working with EHRs, practice-management systems, clearinghouses, payer portals, and spreadsheets. Evidence of improving outcomes, such as reducing preventable denials, resolving aged receivables, improving payment accuracy, or shortening enrollment delays. The ability to explain complex issues simply and coach teammates and providers with patience and sound judgment. A habit of documenting what you learn and finding ways to prevent the same issue from happening again. Experience limited to coordinating an outsourced billing vendor will not meet the hands-on requirements of this role. Previous management experience is welcome but not required. Relevant specialties and care settings Billing and credentialing experience in one or more of: primary care, chronic care management, behavioral health/psychiatry, home health, or home-based medical care. Experience supporting physician- and NP-led practices, including multi-provider or multi-state operations. Familiarity with the documentation, payer requirements, and reimbursement workflows specific to the services you’ve supported. Additional relevant experience Working with product or engineering teams to improve healthcare workflows. Using AI, automation, or reporting tools to improve operational efficiency. Coding skills are not required. What success looks like Complex cases reach a clear resolution. Providers understand the status of their billing and enrollment. Teammates become more capable through your coaching. Recurring issues lead to better procedures and product improvements, with fewer errors, less rework, and clearer visibility into outstanding revenue. When you apply Please include your resume and brief answers to these questions. Use approximate figures where needed and do not share patient information or confidential employer data. What billing and credentialing work have you personally handled? Describe the practice or business, approximate provider count, monthly claim volume, and payer mix. Describe a difficult claim or enrollment problem you resolved. What caused it, what did you do, and what was the outcome? Give an example of a process improvement or coaching effort that helped your team reduce errors, save time, or collect payments more reliably.
