The firm serves real estate investors, fund managers, and high-net-worth individuals navigating the complex tax rules surrounding Qualified Opportunity Funds (QOFs) and Qualified Opportunity Zone Businesses (QOZBs). The firm's core work centers on tax compliance and strategic planning for OZ investors — preparing entity returns (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120-S), individual returns (Form 1040), and QOF-specific filings including Form 8996 for semi-annual testing. Beyond compliance, OZ Tax Prep provides sophisticated advisory services: analyzing capital gain eligibility for deferral, optimizing tax depreciation strategies, managing basis limitations, navigating state tax treatment for non-conforming states like California and Massachusetts, and structuring working capital safe harbor plans for new QOZBs. What sets the firm apart is its singular depth in Opportunity Zone tax law. Rather than treating OZ as one practice area among many, every client engagement and every team member is oriented around this niche — making it one of the few firms in the country with end-to-end OZ tax expertise under one roof.
