About The Role The SEO Manager at Silverback Strategies will serve as a premier subject matter expert in SEO and organic search. This role involves managing a portfolio of 4-6 SEO accounts, building strong client relationships, and overseeing project deliverables. The successful candidate will bring a tenacious approach to exploring the evolving landscape of organic search, especially in relation to AI search testing. They will analyze performance metrics to drive client success and collaborate cross-functionally to execute innovative SEO strategies. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on expertise with AI and SEO tools, and excellent client management skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of agency experience; 3 years of relevant marketing/SEO experience required, 5+ years preferred
- Proven experience working in a performance marketing agency environment
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) and their impact on search behavior
- Strong proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute SEO strategies across multiple industries
- Exceptional client-facing skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex SEO concepts
- Expertise in content strategy development based on audience, keyword, and competitor research
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Adaptability, growth mindset, and a proactive “get things done” attitude
Responsibilities
- Drive and execute strategic SEO initiatives to optimize client performance and innovation
- Manage a portfolio of 4-6 client SEO accounts, serving as the primary point of contact
- Lead client status and reporting calls, communicating SEO strategy in an accessible manner
- Act as a trusted advisor and consultant, fostering long-term client relationships
- Develop tactical roadmaps translating channel strategy into prioritized, time-bound initiatives
- Build and maintain structured content systems, including topic clusters, pillar pages, internal linking, and schema implementation
- Conduct AI search testing and optimization, experimenting to refine strategies
- Research emerging trends in search and AI technologies to apply innovative best practices
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, measure initiative impact, and inform strategy
- Collaborate with internal teams across measurement, paid media, and creative to implement strategies
