# Principal Software Engineer - Backend ## About the Role Post is looking for a Principal-level Backend Engineer to help build and improve the Post.News web and mobile applications. You’ll join a small, mission-driven, organizationally flat team where individual contributors have significant ownership and impact. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend systems while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improvements. This is a remote position within the U.S. ## Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend systems. Own development work end to end, from implementation through delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement new features and enhancements. Drive technical innovation and identify opportunities to improve systems and development processes. Work closely with a small, collaborative, mission-driven engineering team. Contribute to the continued development and growth of Post.News applications. ## Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in backend development. Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance and scalable backend systems. Strong knowledge of: TypeScript Node.js Solid.js and Solid Start SSR PostgreSQL AWS Serverless Architecture Amazon Redshift Redis Dynamo Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. ## Preferred Qualifications Startup experience. Experience building or working with social applications.
