The ideal candidate must have personally delivered or technically led Solace-to-Kafka migration initiatives, with a strong understanding of messaging architecture, transaction management, and application-server integration.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and design migration strategies for Solace JMS clients moving to Kafka while retaining existing Oracle WebLogic or IBM WebSphere application-server runtimes. Evaluate options for connecting existing JMS-based applications to Kafka with minimal code changes. Analyze Solace XA transaction usage and determine suitable Kafka transaction migration approaches. Assess multi-queue to multi-topic/partition processing, consume-and-produce atomicity, rollback and redelivery behavior, and message ordering. Identify compatibility gaps involving JTA, XA, databases, and other resource managers. Evaluate failure recovery, poison-message handling, and application-server transaction integration. Recommend migration architecture, implementation options, limitations, and risk-mitigation strategies. Required Skills Proven, hands-on Solace-to-Kafka migration experience . Strong expertise in Apache Kafka transactions and messaging architecture. Experience with Solace JMS clients and WebLogic/WebSphere application servers. Practical knowledge of XA transactions, JTA, and distributed transaction management. Experience assessing transaction compatibility, failure scenarios, and migration limitations. Strong technical assessment and architecture documentation skills. Important: Candidates with general Kafka experience alone will not be a fit. Direct experience with Solace-to-Kafka migration involving WebLogic/WebSphere JMS and XA/JTA transaction patterns is strongly preferred.
