Solumina MES Consultant
Solumina MES Consultant Client: Gulfstream Aerospace Location: Remote, with some travel to Savannah, GA as needed Type: Long-term contract (3+ years) with option for perm conversion (C2H) Pay Rate: Up to $130/hr W2 or $145/hr C2C Interview Process: 1–2 rounds (video) Role Summary Solumina is iBASEt's MES for complex discrete manufacturing (aerospace & defense, industrial equipment, electronics). This engagement's Teamcenter environment integrates with Solumina, so we need a consultant who has actually implemented or architected Solumina — ideally on a project with an upstream PLM system — rather than general MES/MOM experience alone. This is a hands-on development/configuration role supporting the move from a legacy, heavily customized Solumina G-Series environment to Solumina iSeries. The team's pre-work and internal structure are largely established; the client wants someone who can start actively configuring and building in the system from day one — not a planning-only resource. Core Solumina Capabilities Shop-floor work instructions, routing, and process enforcement (calibration, tooling, and data-collection compliance at each step) As-built / genealogy traceability — building and maintaining full product/unit history Engineering change management as it affects work-in-process on the floor Closed-loop quality: nonconformance handling, MRB-style disposition, and defect/quality data capture on the shop floor Personnel and equipment qualification/certification enforcement within workflows PLM–MES integration patterns — how BOMs, work instructions, and change orders flow from PLM into Solumina and how shop-floor/quality data flows back Required Experience 4+ years implementing iBASEt Solumina specifically (general MES-only experience, e.g., Camstar or another platform, is not a substitute) 7+ years overall MES experience, ideally in complex discrete/regulated manufacturing (aerospace & defense, medical device, or industrial) Hands-on configuration experience on Solumina iSeries; experience migrating from Solumina G-Series (e.g., G5) to iSeries, including documenting and re-mapping legacy customizations, is a strong plus Functional-level SAP integration knowledge — endpoint connectivity and how data elements are gathered/received from ERP (hands-on SAP configuration is NOT required) Business requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional design, and system configuration on at least one full Solumina implementation Experience with manufacturing performance metrics and identifying process-improvement opportunities Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience Preferred / Nice-to-Have Prior project pairing Solumina with a PLM system — Teamcenter experience is a strong plus Led 2+ full MES implementations end-to-end (architecture through deployment) Familiarity with AS9100/IAQG 9100 or other aerospace/defense quality frameworks
