Role Description The Solutions Engineer role is a part-time remote position focused on supporting customers and internal teams with technical and operational solutions related to mining and heavy equipment services. Day-to-day responsibilities include understanding client requirements, designing and documenting solution architectures, and collaborating with service and operations teams to integrate software, diagnostic tools, and processes into existing workflows. The Solutions Engineer will participate in presales activities by preparing technical proposals, conducting demonstrations, and responding to solution-related queries from prospective clients. The role also involves working closely with consulting and sales teams to ensure solutions are feasible, align with customer needs, and support long-term service delivery. Regular activities include troubleshooting integration issues, refining solution designs based on feedback, and contributing to continuous improvement of technical standards.
Qualifications
Ability to apply Software Development and Integration skills to design, configure, and support technical solutions for mining and heavy equipment environments. Consulting and Presales experience to gather requirements, translate technical concepts for stakeholders, and contribute to solution proposals and demonstrations. Sales-related capabilities to collaborate with commercial teams, understand customer value drivers, and support the solution component of bids and tenders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to diagnose technical issues and recommend practical, safe, and efficient solutions. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document solutions, create technical materials, and work with remote teams. Experience in mining, heavy equipment, or industrial services environments is highly beneficial. Relevant technical qualification in engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. Self-directed work style with the ability to manage part-time remote responsibilities and meet deadlines across multiple projects.
