Staff Accountant
About the Role
North Miami Apparel Company is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team in North Miami. This role is ideal for someone with 2-4+ years of accounting experience who is ready to take on their next role in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, processing customer payments, supporting month‑end close, building reports in our ERP, enhancing AI initiatives, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Process journal entries and complete monthly general ledger account reconciliations with supporting schedules, Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Learn the report writer in our ERP (Exenta) and develop financial reports as needed. Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and automate using AI. Post accounts receivable customer payments, accounting for dilution and discounts. Process accounts payable invoices into the company’s ERP system, ensuring proper approvals and general ledger coding. Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, customer service, and leadership teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required). 2-4+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting. Understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles. Experience in creating reports using report-writing or business intelligence (BI) tools. Proficiency with ERP/accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Process improvement mindset, looking for more efficient ways to get the job done. Experience automating processes using AI is a plus. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset
