About the Opportunity: The STAFF QUALITY ENGINEER role is focused on defining and implementing the quality assurance strategy for the company's reference entity data services. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of company data before it reaches customers by building quality practices from the ground up and collaborating with engineering and product leadership. The role contributes to maintaining high data integrity, enabling confidence in the platform's outputs. Responsibilities: Own and develop the quality strategy for reference entity data, emphasizing quality by design and automation. Identify and close gaps in test coverage for critical workflows including data ingestion, record matching, and data delivery. Define data correctness criteria and create golden datasets, labeled samples, and automated checks to verify quality. Establish quality measures and release standards to facilitate confident product shipping. Build scalable automation across data, API, and event-driven interfaces at various testing layers. Anticipate and mitigate risks related to data lifecycle issues such as provider data drift and schema changes. Collaborate with developers on test planning for new features to ensure timely automation. Utilize production signals to prioritize testing efforts that reduce customer risks. Integrate AI techniques into test design, maintenance, and triage processes. Mentor engineers and influence cross-team quality standards. Requirements: Minimum 8 years of quality engineering experience, including strategic planning for complex backend or data platforms. Proficiency in designing and automating tests for backend data systems, including API and contract testing, data pipeline validation, and event-driven interfaces. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Kotlin/Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Ruby. Expertise in test design at unit, API, and end-to-end levels with sound judgment on application. Experience in validating data correctness at scale, especially in matching or pipeline systems. Knowledge of continuous delivery, CI/CD practices, and release quality controls. Experience applying AI to enhance engineering and testing processes. Ability to independently set direction and influence without formal authority. Effective communication skills with technical and business stakeholders. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
