U.S.-Based WordPress Developer — Directory, Membership & Payment Updates

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

We’re a U.S.-based branding and marketing consultancy looking for an experienced U.S.-based WordPress developer to assist with updates to an existing client website. We’re looking for a developer we can communicate with directly, discuss the project with before beginning work, and potentially build an ongoing working relationship with for future client projects. Initial Project The website includes a searchable directory/listing system. We need assistance with two primary updates: 1. Listing Packages & Payments Configure approximately four monthly listing tiers: Free tier with limited listings and duration Entry-level paid tier with one active listing Mid-level paid tier with multiple active listings Premium tier with unlimited listings The client's existing credit card processor is Authorize.net, so experience with Authorize.net integrations is strongly preferred. 2. Directory Load More Functionality The existing directory currently uses traditional numbered pagination. We'd like to change this so users can continually load additional listings on the same page through a Load More interaction or similar functionality. Developer Requirements We're specifically looking for someone who: Is located in the United States Has strong WordPress development experience Has experience with directory/listing websites Understands recurring payments and subscriptions Has experience with Authorize.net or similar payment integrations Is comfortable troubleshooting existing themes and plugins Can work within an existing website without unnecessarily rebuilding functionality Communicates clearly about scope, hours, timeline and technical limitations Our Process Please do not provide a firm project quote based solely on this posting. We will first shortlist a small number of developers and schedule a brief conversation through Upwork. During that conversation, we'll provide additional information about the website, existing technology and exact requirements. After reviewing the project, we'll ask shortlisted developers to provide: Recommended technical approach Estimated hours or fixed project cost Estimated timeline Any risks, limitations or dependencies you identify We'll then select a developer and establish the project through Upwork. Please include examples of similar WordPress directory, membership, subscription or Authorize.net work you've completed. We're also interested in finding developers we can work with on additional client projects, so there may be ongoing opportunities if this project is a good fit.
