Role Description The Vice-President for Sustainable Development is a full-time remote leadership role responsible for defining and driving Valeo’s global sustainability strategy. This position leads corporate initiatives related to environmental impact, social responsibility, and long-term value creation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting strategic sustainability goals, overseeing key programs and projects, and collaborating with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into operations, supply chains, and product development. The Vice-President establishes metrics and reporting frameworks, manages stakeholder engagement including investors and philanthropic partners, and represents the company in sustainability-related forums and industry groups. This role also mentors senior leaders, champions a culture of responsible innovation, and ensures transparency and accountability in all sustainable development initiatives.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong expertise in Planned Giving and Philanthropy to support strategic partnerships, long-term funding models, and impact-driven initiatives. Candidates should possess experience in Annual Giving and Budgeting to oversee recurring sustainability programs, manage financial resources, and align investments with corporate objectives. Candidates should possess advanced Project Management skills to lead complex, multi-region sustainability projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and deliver measurable outcomes. Extensive leadership experience in sustainability, ESG, corporate social responsibility, or related fields, ideally within a global or industrial organization. Proven ability to develop and execute long-term strategies, influence senior stakeholders, and communicate vision clearly to diverse audiences. Strong analytical and financial acumen, including experience with impact measurement, ESG reporting frameworks, and regulatory compliance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization externally and build trust-based stakeholder relationships. Advanced degree in business, environmental studies, public policy, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent leadership experience.
