Role Description The Vice President of Financial Services is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing financial strategy and operations across Illume Ventures’ portfolio and internal activities. This includes leading financial planning and forecasting, managing cash flow, budgeting, and capital allocation for the pre-accelerator and supported ventures. The role will evaluate investment opportunities in AI and deep-tech companies, structure deals, and collaborate with founders on financial models and funding strategies. The Vice President will develop and refine financial policies, reporting frameworks, and performance metrics, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. This position works closely with senior leadership, advisors, and external partners to support sustainable growth, risk management, and long-term value creation.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Financial Planning and Finance skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation. Candidates should possess deep expertise in Financial Services and Investments, with experience in evaluating and structuring venture or private equity deals. Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, assess risk, and support strategic decision-making. Relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, corporate finance, or financial leadership roles within innovation or technology sectors. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, MBA) is an asset. Interest in AI, deep-tech, and frontier technologies, and commitment to ethical, impact-focused innovation.
