Role Description The Vice President of Global Operations is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing and optimizing operational processes across Emergent Ventures’ portfolio and internal teams. This role will lead global operations strategy, design scalable frameworks, and drive operational excellence to support pre-seed and follow-on investment activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing cross-functional projects, improving workflows, aligning operations with strategic goals, and coordinating with investment, finance, and portfolio support functions. The Vice President will analyze performance data, develop operational policies, and implement best practices in supply chain and resource management where relevant to portfolio companies. This position also includes mentoring team members, collaborating with external partners, and ensuring consistent, efficient execution of initiatives across regions.

Qualifications

Strong Operations Management and Operational Excellence skills, with experience designing and improving end-to-end processes. Proficiency in Strategic Planning and Project Management, including leading complex, cross-border initiatives. Understanding of Supply Chain Management principles, preferably with exposure to early-stage or growth-stage companies. Demonstrated leadership experience in a senior operations role, ideally within venture capital, private equity, or high-growth startups. Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment and collaborate across cultures and time zones. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Track record of building and scaling operational frameworks, tools, and KPIs. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
