Role Description The Vice President of Platform is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the vision, strategy, and delivery of Spark Tech Agency’s core platform capabilities. This role oversees platform architecture, engineering standards, and technical roadmaps to ensure reliability, scalability, security, and performance across all client solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with product and engineering leaders to prioritize platform initiatives, guiding teams through design and implementation decisions, and establishing best practices for cloud infrastructure, APIs, integrations, and data management. The Vice President of Platform will mentor and develop technical leaders, manage cross-functional stakeholder expectations, and ensure that platform investments align with business goals and customer needs. This position also plays a key role in evaluating emerging technologies, driving continuous improvement, and representing platform strategy in executive-level discussions.
Qualifications
Experience leading platform or technology organizations, including ownership of architecture, infrastructure, and core services in a high-growth or agency environment. Strong background in modern cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), API design, microservices, and integration patterns to support scalable and resilient systems. Proven ability to define and execute platform roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and align technical strategy with product and business objectives. Demonstrated success in building, mentoring, and managing distributed engineering teams, with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and inclusion. Deep understanding of security, reliability, performance, and compliance considerations in platform design and operations. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences. Experience working effectively in remote, cross-functional environments, using modern collaboration tools and agile delivery practices. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience in platform leadership is a plus.
