Role Description The Vice President of Strategic Sourcing is a full-time, remote leadership role responsible for designing and executing procurement and sourcing strategies that support the community’s growth and operations. This role oversees supplier selection, contract negotiation, and relationship management for technology tools, learning platforms, event services, and other key resources. The VP will analyze sourcing opportunities, optimize supply chain processes, and ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions that align with organizational goals. Day-to-day work includes leading sourcing initiatives, setting policies and standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and monitoring performance metrics and risk. The role also involves mentoring team members, driving continuous improvement, and supporting strategic partnerships that enhance the community’s impact.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Strategic Sourcing and Procurement skills to develop, implement, and manage sourcing strategies and vendor portfolios. Candidates should possess Contract Negotiation skills to secure favorable terms, manage agreements, and ensure compliance with organizational standards. Candidates should possess Supply Chain Management skills to coordinate resources, manage supplier performance, and improve overall operational efficiency. Candidates should possess Analytical Skills to evaluate data, compare sourcing options, manage budgets, and inform decision-making. Experience in technology, education, or community-based organizations is beneficial. Proven leadership experience in sourcing or procurement, with the ability to manage remote teams and cross-functional stakeholders. Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with internal and external partners. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are an advantage.
