Role Description The VP of Market Connectivity Engineering is a full-time, remote leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategy, design, and implementation of market connectivity solutions that support trading, sales, and related financial operations. This position leads cross-functional engineering teams to build and maintain connectivity platforms, integrate with external markets and vendors, and ensure system reliability and performance. The role involves collaborating closely with finance, sales, and trading stakeholders to understand business requirements, prioritize initiatives, and drive projects from concept through delivery. The VP will define technical standards, manage project portfolios, optimize processes, and ensure compliance with relevant industry and regulatory guidelines. In addition, the role includes mentoring team members, establishing best practices, and continuously improving connectivity architecture to support the organization’s growth and competitiveness.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills to interpret market data, assess system performance, and support data-driven decision-making. Experience in finance and trading environments, with a solid understanding of market structure, electronic trading, and related connectivity requirements. Background in sales or commercial support, enabling effective collaboration with business development and client-facing teams. Demonstrated project management capabilities, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and delivery of complex technical initiatives. Proven leadership experience in engineering or technology teams, preferably in market connectivity, financial technology, or electronic trading platforms. Advanced technical expertise in networking, APIs, integration frameworks, and system architecture relevant to market connectivity solutions. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment and across time zones. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus. Experience in regulated financial markets and familiarity with compliance, security, and reliability standards is highly beneficial.
