VP of Transportation
Role Description The VP of Transportation is a full-time remote leadership role responsible for overseeing all transportation operations that support Locus Homes’ services and logistics network. This role manages transportation strategy, routing, carrier relationships, and service-level performance to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery outcomes. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading transportation teams, setting KPIs, monitoring operational metrics, and driving continuous improvement across processes and systems. The VP of Transportation will collaborate closely with operations, finance, customer service, and project teams to align transportation initiatives with broader company objectives. This role also involves developing long-term transportation strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Transportation Management, including route optimization, carrier management, and logistics operations. Proficiency in P&L Management and financial oversight, with the ability to manage transportation budgets and drive cost efficiencies. Strong Project Management skills to lead cross-functional initiatives, implement new systems, and manage process improvements. Experience in Strategic Planning, including developing long-term transportation strategies and aligning operations with organizational goals. Commitment to Customer Service excellence, ensuring transportation operations support high-quality resident and partner experiences. Proven leadership experience managing distributed or remote teams and fostering a collaborative, results-oriented culture. Ability to analyze data and use transportation and logistics software to support decision-making and performance optimization. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field; advanced degree or industry certifications (e.g., CSCMP, APICS) are a plus. Experience in residential services, real estate, construction, or related industries is beneficial.
