At HireXAI, we are building an AI-native platform that helps candidates, employers, and educational institutions navigate hiring, talent assessment, upskilling, and placement. We are looking for a Product Taste Advisor who can help us develop that standard. Someone who can look at a product and immediately recognise what is working, what is mediocre, what is confusing, and what could become exceptional. Someone who can challenge conventional thinking and help our engineering team turn ambitious ideas into thoughtful product experiences. For this role, product taste means the judgment required to make consistently excellent product decisions across the entire user experience. It includes Simplicity: Knowing what to remove, not just what to add. Intuition: Making complex capabilities feel effortless. Visual judgment: Understanding hierarchy, typography, spacing, colour, motion, and composition. Interaction design: Making every click, transition, response, and workflow feel natural. Product judgment: Distinguishing features that create genuine value from features that merely add complexity. AI experience design: Making AI-powered capabilities understandable, trustworthy, useful, and delightful. Consistency: Creating a coherent experience across different products, screens, and user journeys. Attention to detail: Recognising the small imperfections that collectively make a product feel unfinished. Emotional intelligence: Understanding how candidates, recruiters, hiring managers, and educators should feel when using the platform. We are not looking for subjective opinions without reasoning. We want someone who can explain why a design decision is right, demonstrate how it improves the experience, and help the team implement it. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Establish the Product Taste Standard Help define what exceptional product quality should look and feel like at HireXAI. Establish practical design principles and product experience guidelines. Help the team distinguish between acceptable, good, and exceptional execution. Challenge generic, template-driven, or unnecessarily complicated product experiences. Develop a consistent product identity across the platform. Review and Improve Existing Products Review HireXAI's current product interfaces, workflows, and user journeys. Identify friction, unnecessary complexity, weak visual hierarchy, and inconsistent interactions. Recommend specific improvements with clear reasoning. Evaluate prototypes and live implementations before release. Help the team prioritise improvements that materially affect usability, trust, and perceived quality. Bring Taste Into AI-Assisted Development Our engineering team uses AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation. Your role will be to help ensure that faster development does not result in generic products. You will Review interfaces and prototypes generated or implemented with AI assistance. Identify when an AI-generated design looks polished but lacks thoughtful product judgment. Guide engineers toward better layouts, interaction patterns, visual systems, and user flows. Provide actionable feedback that developers can implement directly. Help us build repeatable quality standards without slowing down execution. The objective: AI-speed development combined with exceptional human judgment. Improve the End-to-End HireXAI Experience Help us create better experiences for our three primary user groups: Candidates Discover opportunities and understand their career options. Complete assessments and AI-powered interviews. Identify skill gaps and access relevant upskilling. Understand their progress and next steps. Employers and Recruiters Discover and assess relevant candidates. Navigate hiring workflows with less friction. Understand assessment results and candidate information. Make better use of AI-powered recruitment capabilities. Colleges and Educational Institutions Manage placement and student readiness workflows. Understand student skills, assessments, and employability. Navigate institutional dashboards and reporting. Make talent development and placement processes easier to manage. You will help ensure that each experience is designed around the user's needs rather than the underlying complexity of our technology. Build a Culture of Exceptional Product Quality Work with the founder, product team, and engineers on important design decisions. Provide direct, constructive critiques of product work. Introduce useful product references, design patterns, and quality benchmarks. Help the team develop better judgment rather than depending on you for every decision. Encourage thoughtful experimentation while maintaining consistency. Help establish a product review process that catches quality issues before customers encounter them. Make Taste Measurable Through Product Quality Taste is partly subjective, but the consequences of good product judgment can be evaluated. Help us assess improvements through: Task completion and user friction. Usability testing and user feedback. Onboarding completion and activation. Adoption of key features. User trust and perceived product quality. Reduced confusion and support requests. Consistency across the platform. The goal is not to make everything aesthetically impressive at the expense of usability. It is to create experiences that are both beautiful and effective. WHO SHOULD APPLY?
