Web Platforms Engineer
About the opportunity This is an initial 6 months remote C2C contract We’re looking for a Web Platforms Engineer to help improve how enterprise websites are built, supported and evolved. Identify friction in website delivery, adoption barriers and capability gaps; translate findings into clear, prioritised requirements for platform product and engineering teams. Support website migrations and platform onboarding through readiness assessments, dependency mapping, risk identification and practical technical guidance. Develop reusable migration approaches, technical checklists, quality gates and lessons learned to reduce risk, rework and disruption. Promote good practice across web security, privacy, consent, accessibility, regulatory compliance, performance, analytics and SEO. Investigate complex issues affecting websites and CMS implementations, including API, analytics, identity, consent, forms, CRM and third-party integrations; help identify the right owner and route issues to resolution. Work closely with engineering teams, platform owners, agencies, vendors and business stakeholders to coordinate fixes and prevent recurring issues. Steward assigned enablement tools and services, maintaining documentation, adoption support, vendor coordination, service expectations and lifecycle plans. Use delivery feedback, usage trends and quality metrics to recommend improvements to developer experience, reuse, automation and platform effectiveness. Create practical guidance and enablement materials that help teams deliver consistently and adopt new capabilities responsibly. What you’ll bring Experience delivering, modernising or supporting enterprise websites using CMS or digital experience platforms. Working knowledge of web architecture, front-end technologies, APIs, CI/CD, content delivery and third-party integrations. Practical understanding of web security, privacy and consent, accessibility, performance, analytics and SEO. Experience investigating technical issues and coordinating resolution across delivery teams, platform providers and vendors. Ability to translate implementation challenges into prioritised technical requirements, reusable patterns and governance guidance. Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills. A continuous-improvement mindset, with an interest in automation and emerging engineering practices. Experience with enterprise CMS or digital experience technologies such as Adobe Experience Manager, headless CMS or other modern web platforms. Experience supporting website migrations, platform onboarding or multi-team web delivery. Experience in a regulated or compliance-conscious environments like banking, pharmaceuticals etc.
