WordPress Developer Needed to Fix WP Mail SMTP (Form Notifications Not Sending)
Description: Our WordPress website uses the WP Mail SMTP plugin, but email notifications from the site are no longer being delivered. This includes contact form submissions and other automated emails. We need an experienced WordPress developer to diagnose the issue, fix it, and make sure email delivery is reliable going forward. Whatβs happening: Email notifications triggered from the website are not arriving in our inbox. WP Mail SMTP is installed and configured, but something is broken. It stopped working when we changed the URL to the site and use HubSpot and Formidable What we need you to do: 1. Review the WP Mail SMTP settings and the email log to identify the root cause 2. Troubleshoot common culprits, including authentication or API credentials, expired tokens, plugin conflicts, host-level SMTP blocking, and form notification settings 3. Check and correct DNS records for email authentication (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC) 4. Fix the issue and run test sends to confirm emails arrive in the inbox, not spam 5. Confirm that all site notifications (forms and any other automated emails) are working 6. Provide a short written summary of what was wrong and what you changed, so we can prevent it from happening again Requirements: - Proven experience with WordPress troubleshooting and the WP Mail SMTP plugin - Strong understanding of SMTP, email deliverability, and DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) - Experience with common mail providers (Outlook, Microsoft 365, SendGrid, Mailgun, etc.) - Clear communication and ability to explain technical issues in plain language Nice to have: - Experience with Formidable, WPForms, or HubSpot - Familiarity with InMotion Access: Admin access to WordPress and DNS access (or the contact who manages DNS) will be provided to the selected freelancer. We will share credentials securely.
