We're expanding our sales organization and looking for a relationship-driven Account Manager who believes great sales work continues long after the contract is signed. THE OPPORTUNITY As an Account Manager, you'll have two equally important responsibilities: winning new customers and managing, retaining, and growing existing SteelCoded accounts within your assigned geographic territory. You'll work with owners, executives, production leaders, and shop-floor teams to understand their businesses, identify operational challenges, and connect them with solutions that deliver measurable value. We're looking for a consultative sales professional who builds trust, follows through on commitments, and takes ownership of the customer relationship throughout its lifecycle. You'll remain a primary relationship contact after the sale, while collaborating with our technical, implementation, and support teams to serve customers effectively. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES New Business Development Build and execute a territory plan to identify and engage prospective structural steel fabricators. Generate opportunities through targeted prospecting, industry relationships, referrals, customer visits, and trade shows. Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer workflows, challenges, and business goals. Coordinate product demonstrations with Sales Engineering and communicate SteelCoded's operational and financial value. Manage opportunities from initial contact through proposals, negotiations, and close. Maintain an accurate pipeline, forecasts, and sales activity in the CRM. Existing Customer Management Serve as a primary relationship contact for customers within your assigned territory. Maintain regular communication with owners, decision-makers, and operational stakeholders. Conduct customer check-ins to understand satisfaction, adoption, changing priorities, and opportunities for improvement. Proactively surface concerns and work with the appropriate internal teams to coordinate resolution. Maintain accurate account information, contact history, and follow-up activities. Build lasting partnerships grounded in trust, responsiveness, and customer outcomes. Customer Retention & Account Growth Support customer retention and proactively engage accounts ahead of renewals. Identify opportunities for additional licenses, expanded use, and appropriate new capabilities. Develop account growth plans based on each customer's evolving operations and business needs. Encourage customer advocacy, references, and referrals when appropriate. Implementation Coordination & Teamwork Coordinate customer scheduling for the two virtual pre-installation meetings and subsequent onsite installation, working with the customer and SteelCoded Implementation team. Communicate customer expectations, important operational details, and implementation needs to internal teams. Stay engaged throughout onboarding and after go-live to support continuity in the customer relationship. Partner with Sales Engineering, Implementation, Support, and Product Development while leaving technical installation and troubleshooting to the specialists responsible for that work. Share customer feedback and market insights with leadership to help improve our products and customer experience. QUALIFICATIONS Required Proven experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development. Ability to develop new business and independently manage an assigned customer portfolio. A consultative approach to selling, with strong discovery, relationship-building, and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate business value to owners, executives, and operations leaders.
