Accounting Manager - CPG & E-Commerce

About the Opportunity: The ACCOUNTING MANAGER - CPG & E-COMMERCE will play a critical role in overseeing accurate financial reporting and maintaining robust accounting controls to support the organization's multi-channel consumer packaged goods business. This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on management of accounting operations, driving process improvements and mentoring staff to ensure efficient financial close and compliance in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Lead and manage the month-end close process to meet a three-business-day target. Reconcile revenue and cost of goods sold across multiple sales platforms according to ASC 606 standards. Maintain the general ledger including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, vendor onboarding, and annual 1099 reporting. Manage accounts receivable aging and resolve payment disputes and deductions. Supervise and train junior accounting personnel on daily accounting tasks. Review and ensure accurate accounting for customer deductions, rebates, and chargebacks. Handle inventory accounting, including balance reconciliation and cost of goods sold. Oversee multi-state sales tax compliance, reviewing filings and ensuring timely payments. Prepare and upload wholesale sales data for tax software use. Process semi-monthly payroll and verify accuracy and compliance. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. Support audits and tax engagements by preparing necessary documentation. Mentor junior staff through coaching and performance feedback. Identify and implement automation and process improvements. Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Leadership on projects enhancing financial and operational effectiveness. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. At least 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 years in CPG, food & beverage, dietary supplements, manufacturing, or e-commerce. Experience managing accounting cycles for businesses with direct-to-consumer, Amazon, wholesale, and retail sales. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, inventory, and cost accounting. Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks Online, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Rippling, and sales tax software. CPA certification or candidacy preferred. Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Pay Range and Compensation Package: Salary range of $130,000 to $150,000.
