AI Engineer, Security (Offensive & Defensive)

Build the models that hunt attackers and the ones that test our own defenses against them.

The role

You'll build and tune AI models that sit inside our detection and investigation pipeline, and you'll use offensive security techniques to find the gaps those models miss. This is a hands-on engineering role: you write code, run attacks against test environments, and ship model improvements based on what you find.

You'll work closely with the Praxis AI™ team and with SOC analysts who rely on your models every shift. Your output is judged by whether detections hold up against real adversary behavior, not by how the model performs in a lab.

What you'll own

• Design and train models used in Praxis AI to score, correlate and prioritize security events.
• Build adversarial test cases, including red-team scripts, attack simulations and evasion attempts, to find where detection logic fails.
• Translate offensive findings into concrete model or rule changes, and track whether those changes hold up on replay.
• Maintain the data pipelines that feed model training and evaluation, including labeling and feedback loops from SOC analysts.
• Document model behavior, known blind spots, and tuning decisions so the SOC team can reason about what the model will and won't catch.

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated experience building and deploying machine learning models in a production security or detection context.
• Hands-on offensive security experience, including red team, penetration testing, or adversary simulation work you can walk us through.
• Comfort reading and writing detection logic (SIEM rules, EDR queries, or similar) and understanding why a model missed something.
• Ability to explain a technical tradeoff in plain language to analysts who will use what you build.
