Cyber Threat Hunter

Piper Companies is seeking a Cyber Threat Hunter to support a client in the cybersecurity and managed security services industry in the United States. The Cyber Threat Hunter role is fully remote and requires the ability to work Pacific Time business hours. The Cyber Threat Hunter role is ideal for a cybersecurity professional with a strong networking and IT infrastructure background, hands-on threat analysis experience, and a passion for proactively identifying and investigating advanced threats across enterprise environments. Responsibilities of the Cyber Threat Hunter include: Conduct proactive threat hunting activities across network, endpoint, and cloud environments to identify malicious activity before alerts are generated. Investigate security events, suspicious behaviors, and indicators of compromise using threat intelligence, log analysis, and endpoint telemetry. Partner with Security Operations Center (SOC) and Incident Response teams to validate findings and support containment and remediation efforts. Develop and refine detection methodologies, threat hunting playbooks, and use cases to improve security monitoring capabilities. Analyze attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen organizational defenses. Requirements of the Cyber Threat Hunter include: 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, threat hunting, threat intelligence, incident response, or security operations. Strong networking and IT infrastructure knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and Windows/Linux administration. Experience analyzing security logs and telemetry from SIEM, EDR, NDR, and other security monitoring platforms. Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework, threat actor methodologies, and cyber threat intelligence concepts. Relevant certifications such as GCFA, GCIH, GCIA, CySA+, Security+, or CISSP are preferred. Compensation for the Cyber Threat Hunter include: $130,000 - $160,000 annually Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
