Book Launch Marketer — Education/Academic Publishing Experience a Plus
I have a book coming out in February 2027 with a major academic/education publisher, with preorders beginning in January, and I’m looking for a smart, creative marketer to help me build and execute a focused launch strategy. My primary audiences include educators, school leaders, social workers, and others interested in belonging and equity. I’m not necessarily looking for someone with a huge agency background. I’m looking for someone who gets books, understands audiences, has good instincts, and knows how to turn ideas into action. This could be a great fit for an emerging marketer with strong skills and initiative. Experience with education publishing, academic publishing, education organizations, or nonfiction book launches would be a big plus. I’d like help thinking through and executing things like: - A January preorder strategy - Launch planning leading into the February release - LinkedIn and other social content - Outreach to education organizations, podcasts, newsletters, conferences, and other potential partners - Using my existing network without making every interaction feel like “buy my book” - Creative ways to connect the book to my existing writing, speaking, consulting, and YouTube work - Identifying opportunities I may not be thinking about I already have an established professional network and body of work, so this isn’t about starting from zero. I need someone who can look at what I already have and help me use it strategically.
- *Most important:** I want someone who can think. I’m not looking for generic AI-generated marketing plans or someone who simply schedules social posts. I want a partner who brings ideas, asks good questions, understands the education space, and helps make this launch feel authentic to me and the work.
When applying, please briefly describe one book launch, education campaign, or similar project you’ve worked on and what you actually did. If you have experience with education publishers or marketing to educators, definitely mention it.
