Build And Release Engineer

Job Title: Build Engineer Location: Remote – USA Job Type: Full-Time Experience: 3–7 Years

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and maintain automated software build systems. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application development and deployment. Automate build, packaging, testing, and release processes. Manage build configurations across development, QA, staging, and production environments. Troubleshoot build failures, dependency issues, and deployment problems. Work with development teams to improve build performance and reliability. Manage source code repositories, branching strategies, and version control workflows. Integrate automated testing and quality checks into build pipelines. Maintain build scripts using tools such as Maven, Gradle, MSBuild, Make, CMake, or similar technologies. Support containerized build environments using Docker/Kubernetes where applicable. Implement build security, artifact management, and access controls. Monitor build and pipeline performance and identify opportunities for optimization. Maintain technical documentation for build processes and release procedures. Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Software Engineering, and Release Engineering teams. Required Skills 3+ years of experience in Build Engineering, DevOps, Release Engineering, or CI/CD. Strong knowledge of Git and source-control management. Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools. Experience with build automation tools such as Maven, Gradle, MSBuild, Make, or CMake. Strong scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar. Experience with Linux and/or Windows build environments. Understanding of software development lifecycle and release management. Experience troubleshooting complex build and dependency issues. Knowledge of artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory, Nexus, or Azure Artifacts. Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps principles.
