Akkodis is recruiting a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for a client based in Columbus, Ohio. The role focuses on building and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure to support enterprise systems and the Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM).
About the Role
The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will implement and automate AWS infrastructure to support high-availability, secure, and compliant enterprise workloads, including genomics research and clinical-grade data analysis. The role emphasizes infrastructure reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and security. Working alongside multi-cloud architects and DevOps engineers, the successful candidate will translate architectural designs into operational solutions and integrate cloud infrastructure with application delivery pipelines. This work will help development teams build, test, and deploy applications securely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, implement, and support information systems solutions that meet business requirements. Build, configure, manage, and automate secure and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure. Support enterprise workloads by maintaining high availability, performance, cost efficiency, and compliance. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into practical technical solutions. Work with multi-cloud architects and DevOps engineers to implement infrastructure designs and integrate them with application delivery pipelines. Install, configure, integrate, and support servers, storage, networking equipment, software applications, and databases. Monitor information systems to identify and resolve operational, software, connectivity, and performance issues. Establish and maintain system operating policies and procedures. Implement security measures, monitor cybersecurity threats, and ensure compliance with applicable information assurance policies. Provide technical support to end users by diagnosing hardware and software problems and resolving system and application issues. Work flexible schedules as needed to meet job requirements.
Required Qualifications
AWS certification. Experience and knowledge in DevOps engineering. At least 5 years of applicable information technology experience. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, information systems, and enterprise technology environments. Ability to design, implement, automate, and support secure and reliable infrastructure solutions. Ability to collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver operational solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
A master's degree in a relevant field. Clinical licensure and/or other relevant certifications. Experience creating and supporting cloud infrastructure for complex enterprise workloads. Familiarity with healthcare or clinical technology environments, including clinical software and information systems. Knowledge of hospital locations, regional clinics, care centers, and how departments and teams work together to support users. Working knowledge of Windows software, desktop applications, and clinical systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Work Arrangement Full-time position. Remote work. Location: Columbus, Ohio.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $110,000–$120,000 per year, plus benefits. Compensation may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Benefits include: 401(k) with company match.
