About The Role The Cyber Security Engineer at Emprise Bank plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the security posture of our organization. This position is responsible for managing vulnerability assessments, data loss prevention strategies, identity and access management solutions, vendor due diligence, tier 3 end-user support, and incident response activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks. They will lead critical projects, conduct root cause analyses, and collaborate across teams to ensure the bank's information assets are protected against evolving threats. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a passion for cybersecurity, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
Qualifications
College degree or equivalent education and industry experience Extensive knowledge of SIEM platforms, malware applications (e.g., Windows Defender, Symantec) Demonstrated expertise in threat detection and analysis Experience with patch management systems and Active Directory Strong understanding of vulnerability management, incident response, and forensic activities Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS (preferred) Knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMware and Hypervisor (preferred) Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
Lead daily operations of the IT security program, including vulnerability scanning, threat detection, patch management, and security event remediation Stay current on emerging security threats and communicate findings to leadership proactively Conduct root cause analysis and lead project activities related to cybersecurity initiatives Develop and maintain identity and access management policies, ensuring least-privileged access is maintained Design, review, and test Data Loss Prevention controls annually; identify gaps and implement improvements Vet new vendors through security due diligence surveys and conduct annual reviews for critical vendors Own the security due diligence process, including documentation and platform management Serve as an escalation point for complex security issues, providing Tier 3 end-user support Design, recommend, and implement technical solutions to enhance security posture Document all incident responses, testing, and follow-up actions thoroughly Perform other duties as assigned within scope of responsibilities
