Data Analytics Engineer - 100% Remote
About the Role
The company is seeking an experienced Data Analytics Engineer for a remote contract position based in Secaucus, New Jersey. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Dataflow, Looker, and Python. The ideal candidate combines data engineering and analytics expertise, with hands-on experience building reliable ETL/ELT pipelines, developing data models, optimizing BigQuery performance, and creating actionable insights through dashboards and reports. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to data quality, and the ability to collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Dataflow, Dataform, and BigQuery. Develop data models, transformations, and analytics workflows. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver insights through Looker dashboards and reports. Ensure data quality, reliability, governance, and consistency across multiple data sources. Optimize BigQuery queries, partitioning, and clustering to improve performance and cost efficiency. Develop Python scripts for automation, data processing, and API integrations. Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices for data pipeline deployments. Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data infrastructure performance and reliability. Document data models, pipelines, dashboards, and technical processes. Work with cross-functional teams to support data-driven business initiatives. Required Qualifications 6–10 years of overall experience in Data Analytics Engineering. Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Extensive experience working with BigQuery. Hands-on experience with Dataflow. Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using Looker. Strong programming skills in Python. Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines. Strong understanding of data modeling and data transformation. Experience with data quality, governance, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Experience optimizing BigQuery queries, partitioning, and clustering. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
