Data Engineer - WFH

## About the Role Brooksource is seeking a Lead Engineer to combine hands-on application development with technical leadership and solution design. This fully remote, US-based role supports end-to-end delivery across SaaS platforms, custom applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and production implementations. The Lead Engineer will contribute to solution architecture, guide developers, participate in technical design reviews, maintain implementation quality, and support applications throughout production. The role works closely with engineering, architecture, operational, and build teams to deliver reliable solutions and address technical risks and production needs. ## Key Responsibilities Lead hands-on development and technical delivery of application products and services from design through production implementation. Contribute to solution architecture and participate in technical design reviews. Create conceptual and detailed technical design documentation. Develop and support SaaS platforms, custom applications, APIs, integrations, and automation. Ensure production-quality implementation across application development projects. Provide technical leadership through developer mentoring, guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices. Partner with architecture, operations, and build teams to define testing, implementation, upgrade, and patch strategies. Monitor implementation quality and communicate delivery progress and technical risks. Support Tier 3 application issues and change activities. Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and operational teams to communicate technical risks, decisions, and delivery progress. Provide software-engineering perspectives on system requirements. Support production applications through advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and implementation activities. ## Required Qualifications Strong hands-on application engineering experience. Experience working with SaaS platforms, custom applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and production implementations. Proven technical leadership experience, including mentoring developers, influencing code quality, and guiding engineering best practices without requiring formal people-management authority. Experience contributing to solution architecture and technical design reviews. Experience with implementation-quality oversight. Experience supporting production applications, including advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and implementation support. Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, architecture, and operations teams. Ability to clearly communicate technical risks, technical decisions, and delivery progress. Experience creating technical design documentation. Ability to provide software-engineering perspectives when defining and evaluating system requirements. ## Work Environment Location: Remote, United States Employment Type: Full-time Pay Rate: $65–$75 per hour The role involves collaboration across engineering, architecture, operational, and build teams.
