Director of Operational Excellence

Role Description The Director of Operational Excellence is a full-time, remote role responsible for driving continuous improvement across Surgaxis International’s global operations. This role oversees the design, implementation, and optimization of business processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability in manufacturing, supply chain, and support functions. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing current workflows, leading cross-functional improvement initiatives, defining performance metrics, and monitoring outcomes to ensure sustainable results. The director collaborates closely with leadership and functional teams to align operational strategies with organizational goals and to embed a culture of operational discipline and innovation. This role also involves mentoring team members, standardizing best practices, and supporting strategic projects that improve customer experience and operational performance.

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in Business Process Improvement and Process Improvement, with a track record of leading cross-functional optimization initiatives. Strong background in Operational Excellence, including designing and implementing frameworks, methodologies, and performance metrics. Advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make evidence-based recommendations. Experience in Strategic Planning, aligning operational initiatives with long-term business objectives and growth plans. Proven experience in manufacturing, medical devices, or healthcare-related operations is strongly preferred. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Comfort working in a remote, collaborative environment and leading geographically dispersed teams. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus.
