Director of Project Development

Role Description The Director of Project Development is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of strategic projects, from initial concept through execution and completion. This position leads cross-functional teams to define project objectives, develop implementation plans, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation; coordinating with internal and external stakeholders; and monitoring risks, issues, and performance metrics. The Director will negotiate contracts and agreements with partners and vendors, while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies. The role also involves mentoring team members, refining project development processes, and providing regular status updates and recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency in Project Management, including planning, execution, risk management, and performance tracking. Strong Team Leadership and Team Management skills, with experience guiding cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration. Proven experience in Contract Negotiation, including vendor agreements, service contracts, and partnership terms. Solid Budgeting skills, with the ability to develop, manage, and optimize project and departmental budgets. Relevant experience in project development or program management at a senior level, preferably in a complex or multi-stakeholder environment. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making abilities in remote and distributed team settings. Bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP) is beneficial. Comfort with digital collaboration tools and data-driven reporting to support remote project oversight.
