Company Overview: A fast-growing, well-backed technology and professional services firm is standing up its Program Management Office from the ground up — and hiring a PMO Director to own it. You'll build the PMO that lets this business scale — standing up the intake, governance, and financial discipline that free delivery teams to focus on clients, sharpen margins, and give leadership real visibility into project health. Rare greenfield ownership with immediate, measurable impact. What You'll Own: Governance for all active advisory/delivery engagements — from SOW intake through delivery to financial close The sales-to-delivery handoff: turning scope, deliverables, and fees into a real project plan before kickoff Budget, P&L, and margin for every project — flagging scope creep and variances early Utilization and resource/capacity planning to drive staffing and hiring decisions Partnering with Finance on accurate services revenue recognition and change-order management Building the PMO playbook and reporting project health, financials, and risk to leadership and the Board via dashboards What They're Looking For: 7+ years in program/project management or PMO within professional services, consulting, or technical delivery Hands-on ownership of project budgets, P&L, and margin — not just tasks and timelines Working knowledge of services revenue recognition and tight partnership with Finance Experience operationalizing SOWs, managing change orders, and tracking utilization Built or standardized PMO processes, templates, or playbooks PSA tools (OpenAir, Kantata/Mavenlink, Smartsheet, or similar) + strong Excel/BI Comfortable presenting to executive leadership and the Board Nice to have: Cybersecurity, IT services, or VAR/MSP/MSSP background; PMP/PgMP; experience standing up a PMO at a PE-backed company.
